:: 前置詞とは？


　　前置詞とは名詞や代名詞の前におかれる語で、in、at、on、of、for、withなどです。

　　＜前置詞＋名詞＞（前置詞句）は、文中で形容詞・副詞として働きます。


形容詞の働きをする句
　The book on the desk is mine.　（机の上の本は私のです。）
※　on the desk　が book を修飾。
　
副詞の働きをする句
　I saw my friend at the station.　（私は駅で友達に会った。）
※　at the station　が saw を修飾。

　

:: 前置詞の中心的意味１


   ▼ in    <ある範囲の中に>という感じ。
           1. 広がりのある場所・空間 「..(の中)に/で/の」

               They arrived in a big city. ( 大きな町に着いた。)

           2. 広がりのある時間 （月、季節、年、午前、午後など）

               It is warm in spring. ( 春は暖かい。)
   ▼ at    <ある一点に>という感じ。
           1. 地点・位置 「..(のところ)に/で/の」

               I bought it at the supermarket. (それをスーパーで買った)

           2. 時刻・時点  at seven ,  at night , at that time
  ▼ on   <表面上に接して>という感じ。
           1. 物の表面 「..(の上)に/で/の」

               There is a box on the desk. ( 机の上に箱がある。)

           2. 日付・曜日；(特定の日の)朝、晩など

               I play tennis on Sunday. ( 日曜日にテニスをする。)
   ▼ to   <..まで到達して、..に至るまで>という感じ。
           1. 場所・時刻・時点(到達点を表す)  「..へ、..まで」

               He went to the park.  ( 彼は公園に行った。)

               It's ten minutes to seven. ( ７時まであと１０分です。)

           2. 行為の対象 「..に[対して]」
     
               He gave some money to his son. (彼は息子にお金をやった)
